Glassblower Jean-Claude Novaro Royal Treasures Gallery

For more than half a century of his life, Jean-Claude Novaro has devoted himself to creating works of art of the glass genre, which today are literally snapped up by collectors and connoisseurs of beauty around the world.

This April, the unique work of the "glass king" was exhibited at the Royal Treasures Gallery in Ras Al Khaimah. The master brought to Dubai more than 100 unique products - color phases, figures of fish and animals, as well as his favorite exhibit - a cheerful clown seven feet high.

We ask the master: "Jean-Claude, what have you brought to the art of creating large glass products?" Monsieur Novaro replies: “I was one of the first, 50 years ago, to come up with a way to color glass. At first, I just added colored pieces of glass to the red-hot mass of ordinary colorless glass, but when they cooled, they destroyed the whole structure. Then I figured out how to do it , and today I insert particles of pure gold, coloring pigments and much more into my vases, table lamps and other works, which gives me the opportunity to work with multi-colored glass.

I really like to invent new shades. My love of colors came from childhood. My father grew flowers, I was surrounded by them. Subsequently, I wanted to convey their beauty in glass. "Again we are interested in:" Which of your products was the heaviest? "The master does not ponder for a long time:" Perhaps, at first the 12 kg vase, which was included in the Guinness Book of Records, but now I beat my own a record and made a table lamp weighing 13.3 kg. Now it is installed in one of the palaces of Ras Al Khaimah. "

Probably, other works of Jean-Claude Navaro have already found their second home in the magnificent palaces and villas of the inhabitants of the United Arab Emirates!
