Dubai Outlet Mall Star Hunt 2014: Chasing the Stars


For the fourth year in a row, the Dubai Outlet Mall (DOM) hosted the Star Hunt contest, the main goal of which was to identify young talents who want to work in the fashion industry and work with well-known brands of clothing, shoes and accessories. This year, only 15 young men and women of different nationalities were able to “reach” the final, which is traditionally held on the podium at the DOM. Among them, the main struggle for the title "Star of the Year 2014" unfolded, which gives a ticket to the fashion and entertainment industry.

The selection process of contestants from various countries began in November 2013. As a result, the representatives of the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Iran, India, Sri Lanka, the USA, Russia, Belarus, Nigeria, Brazil, Afghanistan, South Africa, Egypt, Australia, Argentina, the Philippines and Pakistan passed to the finals. For more than two months, the finalists worked hard, improving their skills in the art of fashion shows, choreography, makeup and skin care. In addition, he was taught the basics of proper nutrition, etiquette of communication with the press and much more.

Yves Jaso from the popular Channel 4 Radio, Muhammad Al Salmi from Flydubai and Kenny Onilogho from the modeling agency Fame Modeling Agency were invited to evaluate the talent and efforts of the participants.

The winners were Julia Komarova from Belarus and Side Shujat from India. They received many valuable prizes, including a free round-trip ticket to any city of their choice from Flydubai, the ability to make free purchases at the mall’s luxury stores, and professional photography for the portfolio.

Recall that the Dubai Outlet Mall is the only shopping center in the UAE, which is located outside the city. Manufacturers trade directly from warehouses through their company stores, so prices here are 30% lower than in other shopping centers in Dubai. Moreover, discounts are available all year round.
