Expanding horizons

Calvo and Kano, it was important to capture the very essence of national culture. The headquarters of the company is located in Madrid, and the name Magerit is the ancient name of the capital. At the same time, in accordance with the literal translation (Magerit is a source of full waters, the place of many streams), the brand draws inspiration from many sources - not only Spanish, but also Roman and Greek mythology, with their legends, fairy-tale nature and beautiful heroes.

The antique style can be seen in the details: in the Sky collection, for example, chains are replaced with laces. Another thing is that these are not ordinary leather laces, but twisted ones made of silk or rubber necklaces. In another collection, Daisy, oriental flavor and pretentiousness are felt.

Fresh ideas from Magerit quickly made the almost impossible - they made the whole world talk about these jewelry. Indeed, the architectural and sculptural techniques used in the work look like real intellectual art. Thus, the Vitral collection (translated from Spanish - stained glass window) embodies the motives of one of the most influential and original artistic styles - Gothic. The two most striking motifs are gargoyles and stained glass. According to the creators, the mythical gargoyles, whose sculptures traditionally adorn Gothic temples, are designed to protect against uncontrollable natural elements.

The grace and grace of the Magerit style are as if created to be embodied in miniature. After all, the main principle of the Calvo Cano brainchild is the uniqueness of the product. It sounds commonplace - almost everyone says that about their products, but in the case of Magerit it is more than a marketing strategy. Each decoration is a miniature image of a frozen movement. Brand products look highly artistic, and this is not an empty phrase: even without stones, Magerit products are piece goods. A distinctive feature is the combination of shiny and matte surfaces in one product, which not only creates a natural effect, but also enhances the attractiveness of the decoration.

The power of desire

Daniel Calvo and Roman Kano, the chief designers of Magerit, for a reason, chose nature in all its manifestations, from seasons to flowers and animals, as the key theme of their work. Dragons that spew flame, rebellious horses, insinuating cougars, as if frozen before a jump on a hunt, the underwater world ...

A careful approach to working with color in Magerit is visible in the Ninfas collection. Sapphires - yellow, blue, pink - are found in the same jewelry with diamonds in matt gold, which is obtained as a result of sandblasting. By the way, the manufacture of matte gold, as well as the blackening of metal with rhodium, are just two of the brand’s several know-how.

One of Instinto's latest collections is inspired by the relationships that exist between the natural world and humans. Jewelry combines the character, strength and courage of a panther with the sensuality, subtlety and passion embodied in a woman. The interweaving of gold, black and white diamonds and amethysts create a completely unique character, while black rhodium emphasizes the elegant lines and movements of the panther. Decorations awaken ancient instincts, elevate above reality, and the realism with which the silhouettes of people and animals are executed does not allow you to take your eyes off them. The collection is further evidence that elegance can be combined with ancient strength, luxury and identity.

Name, metal and stones

Yellow and white gold, which is used in jewelry, is not less than 18 carats, stones - sapphires, topazes, diamonds (among others - black and cognac) - as well as pearls are meticulously selected not only from the technical, but also from the aesthetic side.

The aforementioned “uniqueness” for the Calvo and Roman Kano brothers is a principle at the super idea level: each element of the brand’s jewelry is equipped with an embossed serial number - a guarantee of authenticity. Moreover, all Magerit works, without exception, are tested in the National Gemological Laboratory, eventually receiving a certification stamp confirming the quality.

All these facts make me think that we are talking about something appropriate only for high society and evening outings. On the one hand, it is, on the other hand, the Acuario collection makes it possible to wear Magerit jewelry not only at social events, but also in everyday life. Here, the fire-golden fire-paw tongues of the Fire collection, resembling hands, crawl along massive topazes and mother-of-pearl plates.

As Kano himself admits, “giving jewelry is unoriginal”, and it’s not the size of the stones, but the value of the occasion for such a gift. The highly controversial thesis of "non-originality" can be safely contrasted with the bright, almost wild beauty of Magerit jewelry.
