It was the gastronomic boutique Fortnum & Mason who became the founder of the “food baskets”: sets of exclusive colonial goods were delivered with a messenger to the homes of the aristocracy and were in great demand. It is not surprising that today this idea was also developed in Dubai, where the Tea House presented the Afternoon Tea Take-Off menu. The updated picnic baskets contain everything you need for a light bite, as well as cutlery and napkins with branded monograms.
In the set for one - a fresh bun, a jar of strawberry jam, whipped cream, as well as mini sandwiches with fresh cucumber, smoked salmon or aromatic roast beef. Of course, a cup of aromatic tea (or coffee) is also included in the set (90 dirhams). A practically similar set, but with much larger portions, is also offered for two: in addition to fresh buns and sandwiches, three branded cakes will be put in a basket - specifically to “sweeten” tea drinking in the fresh air (220 dirhams).
