Shadows of Ramadan

Sculptures, patterns, shadows and Arabic calligraphy in a completely new reading - all this can be seen at the Shadows of Ramadan exhibition, which runs until the end of August at the Sofitel Dubai JBR.

Arabic calligraphy still retains two main functions - artistic and decorative and sacred.

The characteristics of Muslim fine art are closely related to religion, since Islam forbids reproducing images of living beings. A person should neither try to compete with Allah, who created life, nor create idols for himself. It is not the first time that artists from Palestine, Maysun and Bassam, have presented such an exhibition, but every year their calligraphy skills and the unique art of creating shadow images are only growing.
