Dubai, UAE. The legendary French pop-folk group "Gypsy Kings" will perform in Dubai on March 16. The concert will take place on the roof of the Wafi shopping complex as part of the Garden Events music program and will coincide with the 16th anniversary of Seville's famous Spanish restaurant. The guests of the evening are waiting for fiery flamenco rhythms, cocktails, and also à la carte refreshments from the famous Wafi restaurants.
Gipsy Kings, a French pop-folk band, plays the exotic flamenco rumba style. Created in 1979 by the famous flamenco singer Jose Reis in the town of Arles. Initially, the group was called LOS REYES and, in addition to Jose Reis, its sons included Andre Reis and Nicholas Reis, as well as brother-in-law Jahloul Bouchikhi. After the death of Jose Reis, the virtuoso flamenco guitarist Tonino Baliardo joined the band, and the group changed its name to GIPSY KINGS. Soon, the composition of the group increased even more due to the guitarists Diego Baliardo, Paco Baliardo and Kanuta Reis, who replaced Bouchikhi.
The creativity of GIPSY KINGS has absorbed the traditional gypsy music of the French south, modernized by talented singers and guitarists and achieved worldwide popularity thanks to the efforts of producer Claudi Martinez. The group performs songs in a local dialect, a mixture of French, Spanish and Catalan. The most famous album is Gipsy Kings with its hits Bamboleo and Djobi Djoba.
