Car owners in Abu Dhabi can now use their cars confiscated for traffic violations.
Abduction motorists in Abu Dhabi can now leave their confiscated cars at their home, and not at the parking lots, as it was before. They can also use cars for an additional fee.
Under the law, vehicles can be confiscated for several weeks or months if the driver exceeds the speed, passes the red traffic light or makes other serious violations.
After paying the fines, car owners can install a smart device that tracks the location of the car in order to use it during the punishment period and pay 15 dirhams ($ US 4) for each day of the confiscation period. According to the new rules, the car must be parked in the place chosen by the driver before midnight on the day of use.
Police urged drivers to follow traffic rules to avoid heavy fines and car confiscation.
