In Dubai, opened a new bridge

Dubai launches traffic on the bridge leading to the Expo 2020 venue.

The Dubai Highway and Transportation Authority (RTA) opened a bridge on Saturday, February 16, leading to the Dubai Expo 2020 venue.

"The RTA partially opened three lanes in each direction over the bridge on Expo Road," said Mattar Al Thayer, CEO and Chairman of RTA.

The construction of the bridge is part of a larger project, which includes the construction of bridges with a length of 2.6 km and roads with a length of about 3 km in this section. Expo Road will be expanded to six lanes in each direction. Road works are foreseen on a 27-km stretch with the construction of four new bridges.

Al Thayer noted that the project is advancing ahead of schedule and confirmed that the work will be completed long before the event.

Expo 2020 is expected to attract around 25 million visitors to Dubai. The exhibition will be held in the emirate from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021.
