Dubai, UAE. Residents of the United Arab Emirates spent US $ 17.6 billion in the halal tourism segment outside the country in 2017, according to a report from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, based on data from the Mastercard payment system and the World Travel and Tourism Council.

Thus, the inhabitants of the UAE have become leaders in this indicator among countries with a Muslim population. The second place was taken by residents of Saudi Arabia (US $ 16 billion), the third - travelers from Kuwait (US $ 10.5 billion).

The study notes that the volume of the halal tourism industry is US $ 181 billion and will grow to US $ 221 billion by 2020. By the same year, the number of Muslim tourists will increase from 131 million to 156 million people. In 2017, each tourist spent an average of US $ 1381, by 2020 this figure will increase to US $ 1417.
