Moldovan Minister calls UAE the gateway to the Middle East region

On the eve of the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the United Arab Emirates, the Minister of State called the Emirates the country's gateway to the Middle East and North Africa region.

The United Arab Emirates serves as a gateway for the Republic of Moldova to other Gulf states and the entire Middle East and North Africa region, said Moldovan Foreign Minister and European Integration Tudor Ulyanovsky. He made this statement on the eve of the opening of an embassy in the UAE. Recall, the embassy opened on May 11, 2018 in Abu Dhabi.

Tudor Ulyanovsky added that the Moldovan Embassy in the UAE will serve the interests of the Moldovan community not only in the Emirates, but also in the Gulf region.

He also said that Moldova plans to open its consulate in Dubai in the near future.

"Now we have reached the highest level of relations with the UAE and we are determined to use our developing ties in the interests of both sides," he added.

“After the opening of the embassy here in the UAE, we will be glad to open the UAE embassy in Moldova. We discussed this with UAE officials and we did not meet any objections,” he said, “We will have a trade operations officer authorized by the Ministry of Economy of Moldova in the embassy, which is entrusted with establishing trade relations with the UAE. We plan to build partnership wines-wines relations with the population of the Emirates and all segments of the business community. Moldova provides a wide range of agricultural products, including vegetables, EBCCH and juices, and we would like to be able to export them, not only in the UAE, but also to use the UAE as a gateway to other Gulf States, as well as in the entire region of the Middle East and North Africa. "

“In addition, we have already established air links between the two countries. We have flights twice a week between Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, and Dubai through National Moldavian Airlines - Air Moldova. We hope that we will launch Emirates flights between our two countries soon. "

Ulyanovsky expects that an agreement on civil aviation will be signed between the two countries in the near future, which will contribute to the development of trade, investment and tourism relations, as well as cultural cooperation between the two peoples.

The Moldovan Foreign Minister stressed the readiness of his country to actively participate in the upcoming Expo-2020 in Dubai.
