Dubai's luxurious golf course begins to be planted with unique trees

The Dubai Jumeriah Golf Estates residential community is planted with trees to pay tribute to Sheikh Zayed, the founder of the UAE.

At the Jumeirah Golf Estates (JGE), Dubai's luxury golf community, on Saturday, April 14, 2018, a tree planting ceremony was held to pay tribute to Sheikh Zayed as part of the celebration of the Year of Zayed in the UAE across the country.

JGE will be planted with over 200 hectares of UAE national trees along two world-famous golf courses. Prospect of cineraria is a drought-tolerant evergreen tree and one of the strongest plants that can be found in the desert. In their natural habitat, many species of birds nest on these trees.

Jumeirah Golf Estates offers one of Dubai's most extensive wildlife habitats. With more than 4 thousand trees and 15 lakes, the region annually meets more than 340 species of local and migratory birds.

Yusuf Kazim, CEO of Jumeirah Golf Estates, said: "Jumeirah Golf Estates truly reflects Sheikh Zayed's vision of turning the desert into a green haven ... and having the honor to contribute to the nation’s message."
