Abu Dhabi police published a new list of fines for traffic violations.
Abu Dhabi Police Department website has posted new fines for traffic violations, including violations of permissible car noise standards.
In July last year, the UAE government adopted amendments to federal legislation in the field of traffic, providing for the introduction of new fines throughout the country.
So, if the noise level of your car exceeds the permissible norms, then you will have to pay a fine of 2000 dirhams.
In addition to changes regarding noise levels, the law includes a series of amendments, namely:
- A fine of 800 dirhams and four black points for using a mobile phone while driving a vehicle,
- A fine of 1500 dirhams for tinting with a light transmission of more than 50 percent,
- A fine of 3,000 dirhams and 23 black points, as well as a car arrest for 60 days for exceeding the speed limit by more than 80 km / h.
Driving while intoxicated threatens motorists with a fine of AED 20,000 and / or imprisonment (this decision is made by the court), coupled with accruing 23 black points and arresting the vehicle for 60 days. Operating a car with worn tires will result in a fine of 500 dirhams and 4 black points, as well as a car arrest for 7 days.
A fine of 500 dirhams, 4 black points and 7 days of arrest of a vehicle will also punish motorists for driving a vehicle with an expired insurance policy and registration. Car enthusiasts are also facing a fine of 1000 dirhams, 12 black points and a month’s vehicle arrest for driving at a red traffic light.
The law also enshrines the mandatory use of seat belts by all passengers; ignoring this rule will result in a fine of 400 dirhams and accrual of 4 black points. The law also provides for a fine of 3,000 dirhams and accrual of 24 black points for commercial transport without a permit, the creation of interference on the road after an accident will cost motorists 1,000 dirhams and 4 black points.
Children under the age of 4 years must be transported in a special chair, for violation of this rule, the driver must pay a fine of 400 dirhams.
