The maximum allowed speed on the Sheikh Zayed highway between the second (next to the Shangri-La hotel) and the fifth traffic intersection (next to the new Dubai Marina) will be 100 km / h instead of the usual 120 km / h.

The high-speed mode on the section of the route from Al-Gharhud Bridge to the second traffic intersection now already has 100 km / h in its upper limit with the possibility of speeding up to 20 km / h with impunity. Almost everywhere, the maximum speed limit will be reduced by 20 km / h from the existing limit, an official source in the Committee on Roads and Transport of Dubai (Road & Transport Authority, RT A) said. Simultaneously with the Sheikh Zayed highway, the speed limit will change on the Al Khail Road bypass, where the maximum permitted speed will be 80 km / h.
"We are making every effort to reduce mortality on the roads of Dubai. As you know, the majority of accidents occur due to exceeding the maximum permissible speed limit.
