The maximum speed limit on the roads of Dubai will be reduced

The maximum speed limit on Dubai roads, including the main city highway highway them. Sheikh Zayed will be reduced in the very near future.
The maximum allowed speed on the Sheikh Zayed highway between the second (next to the Shangri-La hotel) and the fifth traffic intersection (next to the new Dubai Marina) will be 100 km / h instead of the usual 120 km / h.
The minimum permitted speed will remain at 60 km / h. Cars moving at a speed of 120 km / h will be fined. The high-speed mode on the section of the route from Al-Gharhud Bridge to the second traffic intersection now already has 100 km / h in its upper limit with the possibility of speeding up to 20 km / h with impunity. Almost everywhere, the maximum speed limit will be reduced by 20 km / h from the existing limit, an official source in the Committee on Roads and Transport of Dubai (Road & Transport Authority, RT A) said. Simultaneously with the Sheikh Zayed highway, the speed limit will change on the Al Khail Road bypass, where the maximum permitted speed will be 80 km / h.
"We are making every effort to reduce mortality on the roads of Dubai. As you know, the majority of accidents occur due to exceeding the maximum permissible speed limit. All changes in the speed regime for each section of the route will be made based on the results of monitoring Dubai roads," commented planned innovations Badr Al-Siri, Director of the Department of Traffic RT A. Over the past six months of this year, 136 people died as a result of an accident on the roads of Dubai.
