Green metro line to be launched in Dubai on September 9

The 23-kilometer green metro line of the Dubai Metro will be inaugurated on September 9, 2011 in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and the ruler of Dubai.

Recall that it consists of 18 stations, including two interchange “Union” (Deira) and “Khalid Bin Al Waleed” (Bar Dubai), connecting the “red” and “green” lines.

“According to a study by the Dubai Roads and Transport Committee (RTA), the green line will be served by 14 trains during peak hours and 10 trains during off-peak hours,” said Mattar Al Thayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of RTA . - "The interval of train traffic will vary from six to eight minutes. The total number of trains moving on both lines during peak hours will reach 50, at off-peak times - 28."

As already noted, the green line has 18 stations. Etisalat Station, located in the Al Qusais area near the Emirates Motorway, is considered the first green metro station. It is connected to a multi-level parking lot for 2350 cars and a bus station.
